A Collaborative Effort to Ensure Safety in Phosgene Production
Teblick is proud to have played a key role in manufacturing a high-performance scrubber system for its customer Trevi Environmental Solutions. This advanced BETE multi-stage scrubber, designed and engineered by Trevi, was built by Teblick for the end user BUSS ChemTech AG. For decades, this Swiss company has been renowned as the technology leader of phosgene generation. This advanced multi-stage scrubber is destined for a new phosgene production plant in India, where it will serve as a critical component in ensuring the safe removal of phosgene gas from the plant's exhaust air in case of unforeseen emergency scenarios.
A Robust Multi-Stage Scrubber for Maximum Safety
The scrubber system, designed with precision and care, features columns in polypropylene and in FRP lined with ECTFE. These materials were chosen for their exceptional resistance to the harsh chemicals involved in the process. The system effectively captures and neutralizes phosgene, ensuring that emissions are kept well within safe limits. Continuous monitoring and recording of phosgene levels are integrated into the system, providing real-time data to maintain strict safety standards.
Seismic-Resistant and Corrosion-Proof Design
Given the seismic activity in the region where the plant is located, the scrubber's frame has been engineered to meet local seismic standards, ensuring structural integrity and safety. Additionally, the frame's surface has been coated to the C5 standard, offering superior protection against corrosion – a crucial feature in the challenging industrial environment of a chemical plant.
International Collaboration for Superior Results
This project is a testament to the strength of international collaboration. BUSS ChemTech, the client, entrusted the project to Trevi nv, who took care of the process engineering while Plastic Constructies Teblick (Belgium) handled the mechanical engineering and part of the construction work. The remaining construction, assembly, electrical work, and final testing were carried out by Eco Sistema Teblick and their local partners in Spain, ensuring that the project met all requirements and standards.
Teblick’s Role: Excellence in Engineering and Construction
At Teblick, we thrive on challenges that require specialized knowledge and solutions across multiple areas of expertise. This project demanded the use of various materials, including stainless steel, FRP, and polypropylene, as well as the integration of highly specialized instrumentation. Our team’s ability to deliver on these requirements demonstrates our commitment to excellence and our capacity to contribute to complex, large-scale industrial projects.
Looking Forward
This project not only reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the construction of advanced industrial installations for customers such as Trevi, but also opens new opportunities for future collaborations in global markets.
By combining Trevi’s process engineering expertise with Teblick’s mechanical execution and fabrication quality, both partners continue to deliver reliable solutions that meet the most stringent international standards.
